No, not the bad mood kind - that will be a week from tomorrow when I start the trek back home to the ice and snow and ordinary life...boo, hiss!!! Kep is known for it's crabs and I got to sample them twice today!!!
This morning started in the usual way...a leisurely breakfast at 7 am. This morning it was pho soup - beef with noodles and veggies. Very yum. I am working my way down through the 4 breakfasts included with the room. Tomorrow will be muesli with yogurt and fruit. Can't wait!! Then I start all over again.
I had a lazy morning on my deck and then took a tuk tuk to the crab market and wandered around for a bit. There was a seafood market going on - mainly for locals. Don't think any tourists would want to sample the wares....
I then went to Kimleys in amongst the crab shacks and had the Kampot green pepper crab. I ordered a small one and it was delicious. It came with complimentary steamed rice. I also ordered a bottle of water and a dragonfruit shake. They served me complimentary pineapple to finish my meal. Total cost? $9.38. US. You can't beat that. I had read that Kimleys was getting complacent with their food because of the popularity - they are in the Lonely Planet. I found it delicious. Not much meat but very very tasty with the pepper sauce.
I then walked along the water and found a lovely spot in the shade amongst some trees and watched the fishermen.
I then carried on walking along the seafront - I hadn't gone this far north yesterday.
Back to the lodge via tuk tuk and an afternoon spent by the pool. I decided I wanted to see the sunset and the closest place was the sailing club. So I walked over. Happy Hour - two for one drinks - yay!
I enjoyd my drinks then ordered the crab pasta. As I said I ordered a small crab meal and I was hungry again. Anyway the pasta was lovely but this was lovelier...
Oops not in order but you get the drift. It was absolutely incredible. I think I will treat myself to another sunset meal on Wednesday evening.
Tomorrow it's off to Rabbit Island for a day on the beach.
