After finishing off at Greenford tube station last time I got the train to Shepherds Bush and then the tube back to Greenford. And I was off! Well..after a potty stop at McDonalds - you know..coffee does that. Once on the path I immediately got misplaced - the book told me to turn right but it wasn't at the right place so I carried on. I vaguely remembered walking the opposite way four-plus years previously, passing by the ponds they described in the book. But where? Oh well, I carried on along the path and eventually found the canal path where I was supposed to be - I think I would be surprised if I DIDN'T get lost on a walk!!
It was a lovely gentle walk along the canal...
Then I left the canal and walked across the bridge to Horsendon Farm. Yay toilets...I thought this was cute.
They had a little shop in a craft area (where people were busy crafting) and I bought a pair of earrings that were made by the group there. What I did with them is beyond me - gave them away? Or lost them? Probably the latter.
Then it was up the steps..and that was the easy bit!
Almost there! It wasn't a very steep climb. It is known as one of the most natural viewpoints in London.
I really had a difficult time deciding which way to go - I had to consult Jauntly, an app I have on my phone that details walks in London and all over the place. Finally, I found my way down but I was so frustrated!
This was a SHORT walk; I was tired and grumpy. I walked as far as Sunbury Hill station where I boarded the tube and got off at Fulham where I went to Nando's which is known for its Peri Peri chicken. It is a well-known chain in Britain - "I'm going for a Nando's is a popular saying". It was okay but wasn't too impressed - I wouldn't bother again. I stopped off at Balham to get a couple of books at the library and a few things at Sainsburys. Back to Streatham where Claudia and I killed a bottle of wine that evening!
